Membership Qualifications
Membership is open to qualified Richland Two middle and high school students. To qualify, students must be in good standing with regard to attendance, discipline, grades, and school fees.
Students must have a special interest in promoting active community involvement among fellow students and to helping teachers connect such community activism to classroom study. This teaching strategy, service learning, helps develop important academic, personal, and workplace readiness skills among students while strengthening the communities in which they live.
Members must be willing to commit approximately ten hours per month to Council activities (see YAC Facts).
Member Application
The Council leadership establishes a recruitment period each year, posting it on the YAC calendar. Each school team sets its own recruitment timeline within that established period (see sample application packet). If you have any questions regarding the membership, recruitment, or application process, contact us.
